Trashcade is a hobby site of browser games, synths, and shader toys. Everything runs locally in your browser, some of it pushes the CPU and GPU hard, and some of the games are deliberately unfair. This page covers the three things worth knowing before you play.
1. Photosensitivity & Audio Safety
Photosensitivity / Seizure Notice: Certain games and tools include rapid flashing lights, high-contrast CRT scanlines, chromatic aberration, and screen shake. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or are prone to seizures, discontinue use immediately.
Audio Safety Notice: Several titles and tools (including SFX-Gen 3000 and The Karen) use real-time Web Audio oscillators capable of producing sharp square waves, bitcrushed noise, and intense sub-bass. Please set your headphone or speaker volume to a moderate level before playing.
2. Exported Audio & Generated Prompts
WAV files exported from the sound tools are rendered in your browser as 16-bit PCM. They are not normalized or checked against any broadcast standard, so listen to them before you ship them. Text from the prompt generator is for inspiration only.
3. Code Reuse & Commercial Software License (With Credit)
Yes, you can freely use, learn from, fork, remix, and incorporate our code and mechanics into your own projects, including commercial games and software!
All we require in return is visible written attribution in your project’s credits, documentation, or product listing.
